Lots of dark fruits and tannins. Some oak. Little cedar or tobacco. Could have a little more depth. — 10 years ago

Frangipani, quince, lemonade, apple sauce and a squeeze of lime. Medium bodied in the palate with texture set to oily and finishes off with a medium, slightly bitter, finish. — 11 years ago
Stewed orange peel and caramel - beautiful balance of slight sweetness and acid. — 11 years ago
Unlike many, many other RdD the precision and elegance, with power and structure on display here is impeccable. The house style from the grand daddy Unico is apparent. This is a wine to savor, linger on and appreciate over hours. The complexity complicates a bouquet and palate that are fresh and soulful. #spain #ribera #alion #vegasicilia — 11 years ago
Dried red fruits, earth and truffles. Clean, easy drinking youthful Nebbiolo that's super enjoyable but hardly thought provoking — 10 years ago

1974 Heitz Martha's Vineyard. Drank at dinner in A&S's house w Iana and K. Very interesting to drink this wine as a comp to 1986 BV LaTour and compared to the magnum we drank in Cabo a few months ago. Much more vegetal than I remembered from the large format, but well balanced and enjoyable. We preferred this to the 1986 LaTour. — 11 years ago
