On 6/10/17 at Barnsley gardens on an early birthday weekend. Golf, relaxing by the pool, good food and snores! A dark cherry aroma in an oaky wine. Very nice! — 7 years ago
Jam city. Blackberry jam and sweet spices. Medium plus acidity body, and tannins. Super hot at 14.78%. Woo. — 7 years ago
2013 vintage Smaragd. At The Gardens restaurant, Munich. Pale lemon hue. Medium intensity, pear and lemon, honeysuckle, yeasty notes. Hints of apricots. Youthful. On the palate, silky mouthfeel, off dry, medium plus acidity, medium plus body and alcohol, full intensity of flavour - stone fruit dominant. Good finish. Drink now until 2026+. — 8 years ago
Sweet, after taste is good, smooth, would try again. — 8 years ago
Whoa. literally does a fosby flop out the glass. The most intense wild raspberry and violet you ever did smell with some twizzler in the byke. I gotta get in more botanical gardens huh. Siltiest tannins I ever did see. But my big qualm with a lot of these so-called "natural" wines at this price point is under delivers on complexity — 6 years ago
2003 Merry Edwards 30th Anniversary Pinot Noir. From Merry: "Three distinguished vineyards provided grapes for this special wine. 72% came from the last vintage harvested at Windsor Gardens, blended with 21% Olivet Lane and 7% Quail Hill Ranch. These venerable old vines have all seen more than thirty vintages and harmonize in celebration of my first three decades of winemaking. I made just 333 cases of this luscious wine." A gift from a friend, bricky appearance showing some age. Bright cherry cola and rose petals on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, boysenberry, clove, caramel, mocha and some earthy notes. Fruity without being jammy. Good acidity. Rich and velvety. Well-structured with medium tannin. Best description: delicate and graceful. Lengthy and enjoyable finish. — 7 years ago

Paired so nicely with a seafood-forward meal we had at the outstanding (and simply stunning) new Grey Gardens resto in Kensington Market. This chard was ever-so-slightly effervescent which only added to its bright and fresh quality. — 7 years ago
2014. Flower gardens. Spritz. Honey. Beautiful! — 8 years ago
Enjoyed this Champagne while sitting in the sun beside a pond in the gardens outside the Louvre. It was perfect for our picnic! Gently effervescent, beautiful to look at, faintest hint of apricot on the nose, lively mouthfeel, crisp acidity, dry minerality, short but pleasant finish. Went very well with sea salt potato chips, subtle and thinly sliced cured meats, herbed pickled green olives, and a mini wheel of chévre! — 8 years ago
From the “slope of the gardens” in the Northern Highlands, as expected briny, oily and citrus notes. — 6 years ago
This is why we work for a living. Transformative experience. All the smells of gardens, forest, barn in a beautifully integrated whole. Just magnificent. 1990 was magnificent. Santa - you listening? — 7 years ago
The deep mystery of black currant - and its bright acidity as well. Changed a lot over an hour, probably hit its peak stride around that time. — 7 years ago
A small family-owned estate in St. Helena, Napa Valley, dating back to the 1800s, with formal gardens, pre-prohibition buildings and 40-acre, organically farmed estate making very limited quantities of Sauv Blanc and Cab Sauvignon. Deep aromas of dark fruits and intense spice. A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Blackberry and blueberry flavors, currents and cassis, pepper, leather and cacao, complex. Perfect structure, lingering with mineral spice. Wow! Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago
Wow. Red cherry, strawberry, cedar/sandalwood, Hawthorne, fresh green herb, cassis, black mission fig, beautiful acidity, plush mouthfeel, zippy finish. Alive and composed beyond its years all at the same time. — 8 years ago
