Potpourri nose with def spice/Brett elements. But fruit rides wave of acidity. Tannins still young. A beaut — 9 years ago
A kiss of Brett from Sicily, rose, leather, med bodied, great with burrata — 9 years ago
The peaches are so intense on the nose and palate. Great, great stuff! — 10 years ago
1984 Opus slightly browning but very good ruby. Opening up nose of cedar cassis Tabacco slight vanilla. Taste is definitely showing some age but expressing power of Napa. Med acid med + body. Tannins mature long finish! Very balanced!! A touch of Brett but only enough to give level of character! — 10 years ago
2006. Just getting into gear with plenty of time to go. A good bottle with no brett, great structure and lovely balance with the acidity providing the scaffolding for the fruit. Great with a soy sauce and bourbon- marinaded flank steak. — 10 years ago
Floral aromatics with some notes of anise and currant. A little Brett on the palate- but integrated. Cherry cord on the finish with some beautiful tannins. Drink now. — 11 years ago
Does VERY well a decant, takes the brett( which actually like) out & smoothes the edges a bit. Dark dark black fruits, that volcanic minerality all through. Mild to mod tannins. Can match any food, just about- this time chicken w saffron, apricots; roasted brussel sprouts, & corn pudding w roasted garlic & sage — 7 years ago
Getting less brett on these 15 bottles of this cuvée. Did they add more sulfur for this vintage? Surprised this cuvée tastes good in this vintage with the heat of 2015 and the style of the wine. Maybe it has the grapes that normally go into the 3.14 cuvée. — 8 years ago
Over carbed at first then chills out — 8 years ago
Feral. Holy brett Batman! Lots of pepper and leather. Tastes like an old encyclopedia smells. — 9 years ago
Crazy amount of Brett and VA. Incredibly delicious regardless! — 9 years ago
Way too young now but destined for greatness. Chris Howell knows how to showcase what the mountain gives him. This wine, with its hints of well integrated Brett, is not only distinctive for Napa, but stands out against others from the mountain AVAs. Cellar for a long time! — 10 years ago
1982 Bordeaux First Growth. Great vintage. Color is garnet with some rim variation. On the nose, black fruit, overripe plum, tobacco, spice, chocolate, a bit savory and deep down a minuscule amount of Brett. On the palate, dry, m- acid, silky smooth tannins. Black cherry, dark fruit, minerality, and brine. Definitely not overoaked. balanced beautifully! It took about 30 minutes to open up. A bit funky at first but then the fruit pushed forward. An elegant wine that would pair well with food. I enjoyed it on its own! A chance in a lifetime to drink this wine! #bordeauxwine, #greatwine #greatvintage #rightbank #100pts #wine #firstgrowthbordeaux #frenchwine #lifestooshorttodrinkbadwine #lifeisgood #studywine — 10 years ago
Amazing how much structure and acid is still present. Positive brett character, deep mocha and cooked dark berry aroma. Trivia: Director John Houston was the label artist. — 12 years ago
Funky. Brett. — 8 years ago
2013 wonderful gamey character dried strawberry 🍓 fruit little Brett here for sure — 8 years ago
May 2015 Batch 4 - dark sour ale aged in red wine barrels. Perfectly balanced sour with mouth coating combo of cherry, spice and a hint of wood. — 10 years ago
Body medium +, Brett, menthol, pepper, strawberry, cherry, earthy, oak. A bit "hot". Bottle is atypical. You can't see content. Great with beef deli. Grown at high altitude. 13.5deg. A very pleasant surprise! Don't buy a bottle by its label. — 10 years ago
Lots of brett for one hour. Then super depth with lots of graphite. Still a lot of fruit. — 11 years ago

Strong showing from this young Pauillac. Surprisingly elegant and pretty at this stage. Cassis, red currants and tobacco with great freshness on the palate. Wonderful herbal component with just a touch of brett. Very classic expression. — 7 years ago
