I discovered this wine in a restaurant called Cucina Romana ponte Milvio in Milano (which is delicious in itself).
Paired with a pasta and ragu sauce, I found this wine to be a perfect complement. It is a little heavy for my usual tastes but make no mistake, I highly recommend. — 3 years ago

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This week it's a nice Cabernet Franc from Italy.
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose with blueberries, red currants, cherries, raspberries, wood, licorice, spices, milk chocolates, bitter herbs, light tobacco and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, sweet cherries, toasted vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, oak and black pepper.
Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 5 year old Cab Franc is drinking very nicely now. Showing mild complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Good by itself, easy drinking and well-balanced.
Good right out of the bottle and gets more complexity as it opens up, around 30 minutes. I would love to revisit it in a couple of years.
I paired it with cheeses and olives, by the pool.
100% Cabernet Franc grapes.
14% alcohol by volume.

Literally, the second best rose I’ve had. I love the fact that it’s a red in a rose body. Bam! — 7 years ago

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet Franc.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish /brick rim. Wonderful color.
Nice nose of blueberries, black currants, vanilla, cedar, bell pepper, spices, tobacco, coffee, chocolates, vegetables, herbs and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, spices, vegetables, bell pepper, licorice, dark chocolates, black coffee, light celery and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with soft tannins and raspberries.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Franc from San Diego County. What a great surprise. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel with nice balance.
Tasty and enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and remove the acidity.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
Aged in French oak barrels for 27 months. A small production of only 72 cases.
Tasty and delicious.
13.4% alcohol by volume. Yay. Nice to see that from California.
92 points.
