The '11 Bodegas Barco de Piedra Tempranillo is proof that good wine doesn't have to be expensive. Bluish purple in color, this medium-bodied wine emits a bouquet of black fruits, cherries, licorice, pepper and leather. It's delightfully creamy, velvety and complex. Very impressive for the money. — 12 years ago

Dark chocolate, ripe plum, sandalwood, tobacco, earl grey tea, blackberry. Great intensity on the nose, pronounced. Med+ body, med+ tannins. Velvety on palate, bold. Very age worthy. Excellent with steak. — 9 years ago
