My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago

This 2013 white Pinot fits in exceptionally with the style of wine heart & hands is becoming known for. The wine is smooth, has a full mouth feel and at the same time commands the drinker's attention. Interesting color. The finger lakes have other great options outside of Riesling. Massive, sexy fruit-forward Pinot Noir from Zio Tony vineyard in the heart of Laguna Ridge. Good vintages of this cuvée are on par with the Cohn in my opinion, and this might be my favorite one yet. On night 3 this really opened up and showed some brooding dark berries, cola and sandalwood, laced with earth and spice. Already quite layered and complex, but needs a year or two in Bottle to show more defined flavors. Big oak tannins are still prevalent. Outstanding effort from an unusually low yielding harvest, this wine has some serious future ahead of it. — 8 years ago

2007 Peter Michael Point Rouge Chardonnay. HB w MnD and J&D B. We loved this wine wine so much at the Heart concert and we loved it tonight. Floral, along with notes of buttery brioche and oak. However, somewhat surprisingly, as we drank this in comp to the 2013 Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay, it did not win out. Still such a great wine that we really, really enjoyed. — 10 years ago

Château La Nerthe dates back to 1560, records suggest it might even go back to the 12th century making it one of Châteauneuf’s oldest estates, located in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC region of France near Avignon. Ruby with aromas of red fruit. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. The palate shows raspberries, plums, cherries and blackberries and hints of leather, spice and black pepper. Aged in oak, the wine was complex and elegant with smooth tannins, lingering finish. Nice! — 9 years ago
