At TLT Irvine spectrum. Delicious but a bit grape juicy. Was juicy tho. No vinegar at all — 9 years ago
Medium ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of intense lingonberry jam, ripe raspberries, ripe black currant, ripe blackberry, earth, heady potpourri, subtle vanilla and baking spices; dry, medium acid, medium silky tannins, alcohol listed at medium but tasted pretty hot to me, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, flavors very ripe and concentrated , but quite elegant, outstanding — 5 years ago
The whites from Van Westen are often overlooked under the shadow of their excellent reds. This grigio is excellent though. This wine is real and without gimmicks. That almost makes it an exception for Pinot Gris in Naramata. Genuine and well made. A very nice glass of wine with the mineral, lemon, and sage in perfect balance. — 6 years ago

15 barrels of classic Cabernet seven year old grown on black Sage Road and Oliver meets the smooth and Rich Merlot from a Vineyard in Osoyoos. A tribute to the Bordeaux wines of France, with rich full, flavors. Well aged, notes of blackberries and earth. Medium-bodied, soft tannins. — 8 years ago

Very enjoyable. An intense fruit flavour; very much a new world wine. Maybe a bit young, but drinks now, and for the next five years at least. Full body, long finish, not teribbly complex. Expresses blackberry and black currant like crazy. Very very good. — 8 years ago

The grapes for this Bordeaux style come exclusively from Black Sage Bench vineyards. It’s an elegant blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, and Merlot that deliver a well balanced wine resplendent in notes of blackberry, plum, pepper and chocolate. Softer tannins add to the elegance. An excellently crafted wine. — 6 years ago

Serendipity is located on the Naramata bench in BC, producing several high quality lines. This one is no exception, absolutely delicious! Dark burgundy colour, almost black. Medium bodied. Tasteful dark fruit, plums, and cassis. Well blended and structured as you would expect. — 8 years ago
Chocolate and coffee notes to start. Smooth tannins with just a bit of alcohol. Great with Indian spiced wings on the grill. — 8 years ago
Burrowing Owl Estate Wines have achieved an almost cult status in parts of BC with much excitement in anticipation of a new release. Known more for their Athens, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon's this Merlot deserves notice on its own. With a deep garnet color, a nose of blackberry, black cherry and plum this complex wine delights with smooth layers of vanilla, spices, dark chocolate and hints of sage. If you can find it, this smooth Canadian deserves your attention. Cheers 🇨🇦🍷 — 9 years ago
Crisp and creamy in harmony. So much acidity, nicely balanced with sweet-ish vanilla oak notes. A teeter-totter of tastes. Ideal. All fruit from Tinhorn's Black Sage Bench Diamondback Vineyard. (sample) — 10 years ago

Black currant here with maybe a powderier and softer structure than I remember in other vintages. That said, this is such a great wine year after year. If you enjoy it, try getting your hands on their Vulture which is 100% Cab Franc for a similar expression without the merlot to mellow it. — 5 years ago
