Mid Gold in colour. The tell tale grape pulp aromas of the Muscat grape with florals - “sweet pea” said my good wife. On the palate fulsome fresh grapey flavours finishing dry with a skinnsy bitterness. From the region of Lazio where the principal city is Rome with the famous football (soccer) club of the same name - Lazio FC. — 7 years ago
Unique floral oaky flavor. I am not a huge fan of chardonnay. I had a bottle by FC before and was pleased. Pleased with this one as well. — 9 years ago
Stunning. — 10 years ago
A great example of modern Australian Chardonnay. Winemaker David Bicknell says the Lusatia Park vineyard provides tension. Flavours are in the lime and grapefruit spectrum and a little lean for my palate preferring the more fleshy stone fruit styles of Leeuwin and Pierro. 17.5+ — 10 years ago
2nd best Oakridge Chardonnay to their 864 but punching well above its weight. Fuller creamier palate than some of the leaner burnt match styles from David Bicknell. Very good 17.5+. Drank another one 2 years later on 26 March 2017. A bit of whole bunch funk. Citrus notes but filling out on the palate to be medium bodied and delicious. Impressive. Would give it 92 points now. — 11 years ago
Full throttle yet dialed in and under control! First time with Maggie’s wines as I’ve sat on this now for six years and I was not disappointed.
After a three hour double decant; deep, inky purple in color; intoxicating floral perfume and lavender on the nose, liqueur, and meatiness; palate is so smooth and plush, with blackberry and blueberry compote, subtle smokiness, kirsch liqueur, mild black olive, definite lemon curd zing on the mid palate; the 15.2% alcohol is under control as I get no heat or burn; this is rich but such a smooth drinker. Just wonderful.

Mid Lemon in colour. Notes of Citrus fruit more than stone fruit. On the palate the wine making techniques using sulphur post fermentation to prevent malolactic conversion and preserving high acidity was used. M plus intensity on Palate but in the leaner style compared to Margaret River. Wine Maker David Bicknell was just awarded the Gourmet Traveller winemaker of the Year. — 8 years ago
Decanted for an hour to let the funk blow off. Savory herbs and mesquite bbq, deep black fruit, and silky smooth tannins. Yet another winner from FC. — 10 years ago
Forlì IGT, assuming Albana Secco but may be wrong. Bought directly from the wine maker 3 kms from our house in Cesena (FC). Glass closure, classy wine. €15. — 10 years ago
Dave Bicknell (Oakridge) has struck out on his own to make this classically Gippsland Pinot. I love the balance of dark Gippsland fruit and mouth puckering acidity. Quite a debut! James Haliday 97 pointer — 10 years ago
FC Siena blend has been a reliable go-to for many years. This 2011 bottle seems particularly good. — 11 years ago
Outstanding Sangiovese 2007 ROCCA LE CAMINATE from Meldola (FC). Fruit forward and still lively and fresh! — 11 years ago
What do you get when you cross Treehouse Vineyard fruit and the Assistant Winemaker to TRB at Mending Wall? The answer is this Pinot that is absolutely stunning.
The nose and flavor profile reminds me quite a bit of the Occidental Ridge Pinot from Rivers Marie; bing cherry, dark cherry, a bit of cola, orange zest, citrus and pine; riper fruit but still crisp, rounded tannins and a good little bit of acidity. Really a smooth drinker overall. This has improved over the past year and is a stellar QPR.

An excellent wine. Dry up front, balanced fruit, long finish. FC Club $38 — 7 years ago
Bold Wines enlightened my glass, and FC never disappoints. Deep vivid purple color... abundant aromas from spices on the dark fruit notes. Bold mouth feel on the balanced fruit and alcohol with persistent spices and round tannins. Always decant highly suggested or keep on cellar not for long. 🍷 — 9 years ago
Believe or not this was FC wine on USAirways! Delightful blend from France soft and smooth finish — 10 years ago
Settling in for Sounders FC kickoff, chili & this beauty. This is really damn good wine. Fruit, acid, tannin= Balance! — 11 years ago

Treads the middle path between citrus and stone fruit - more lighter than full bodied. From one of Australia’s Premier exponents of Chardonnay in David Bicknell. No malolactic. Opened another bottle 27 weeks later on 16th April 2020 with similar notes. Very well made and great drinking for the price. — 6 years ago
