Fantastic Chardonnay. This is similar to a batard Montrachet. There is fruit but you still get the minerality from the wine. The 2010 is still a young wine. — 10 years ago
Really, really impressed. Richness evokes batard. Happily better than expected. — 11 years ago
My preference over the batard. Not quite as rich, tad more precise, just as fresh and vibrant. — 12 years ago
Magnum 2007 Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet. Pre-bday lunch at Bot. Definitely glad to drink now- not getting any better. Slightly oxidized, but drink well none the same. Don't wait to drink! — 9 years ago
Oenomaniacs don't have pearly gates, we have Domaine de la Romanee Conti La Tache 1990. Outrageously sexy, with a celestial perfume of asian spices and underbrush and dried cherry. Eternal finish that tattoos itself on your tongue and palate. Medium to full-bodied, with startling freshness and grip for a quarter-centurion. La Tache 1990 will enthrall for another 30 to 50 years.

Young, clean and weighty Batard - serious Xmas eve big boy. 2004 Vintage — 11 years ago
Great balance of fruit, mineral and acidity. A bit leaner than the Batard. — 11 years ago
Disgorged in 2005. Many consider '76 a turning point of a vintage. This was the last harvest in Champagne before the new clones came online in force, and a preview of early harvest conditions to come. This bottle was light gold, very Burgundian- nearly Batard like in weight and intensity, but still vivacious and mineral on the long finish. Wow! — 12 years ago
2006 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Batard Montrachet. White burgundy course during K charity wine dinner, alongside the '07 Lafon Montrachet. This wine had a little more acidity, pineapple, brioche, and light minerality. Gorgeous wine, but definitely lighter and a touch more acidic than the Lafon. Always great! — 9 years ago
White burgundy how i love it. Toasted nuts and citrus. Baby killin you, but after being in a glass for 4 hours, starting to finally open up. Bully Batard-Montrachet Alé Alé — 10 years ago
2000. Huge wow here. No-doubter right off the bat. Next to the 2005 Batard, and I liked this better. Big thwack of sulfur and gunpowder on the nose to go along with lemony fruit and a chicken broth type of savoriness. Richly fruited but crunchy and crystalline on the palate. This keeps reminding me of those sticky lemon drop candies with the sugar crytal coating, sweet succulent concentrated fruit but with a crunch to it. Plenty of bass tones and depth though and it just doesn't quit. This is the vintage the grapes were so perfect they printed a cross-section of one on the back label and it looked like a Mandelbrot fractal. It still manages to depict the wine pretty well. — 10 years ago

Talk about monster. Peter Weygandt himself: "should taste this blind against Batard-Montrachet, that'd be interesting!" — 11 years ago

2006 Marcassin Marcassin Vineyard Chardonnay. Wine charity dinner bought by H&C S, hosted at the house. Drank alongside the 2005 Domaine Leflaive Batard-Montrachet. Both were great. This was oakier, more acidic, and bigger. Great! Table was split as to which they preferred. — 9 years ago
