Very fresh and so easy to drink. Berries and a little fizz on the palate with a nose that is really close to Ashton Pinot Noir from Gentle Folk. Amazing wine. Must buy again. — 7 years ago
Blackberry, raspberry, vanilla, mossy earth, cherry and oak. Great structure and well-integrated tannins. — 7 years ago
Apart from the concern over the winemaking techniques of Ashton… This is a rather complete and delightful PV. Big, round, sweet, juicy, and long! How did they get to this completeness? I would like to think it was from a really optimal ripening season that brought that amazing Brix to the magic 24...or was it some added sugar ;) — 8 years ago

Sparkling Shiraz is an Aussie specialty and very appropriate on Christmas Day. This is interesting in that it is made by Ashton Hills with fruit from a 97 year old vineyard in the Clare owned by Wendouree. A rich mouth filling plummy palate with a gentle mousse soft tannins and acid with a long finish. Delicious! — 9 years ago

Pretty rose gold color, interesting blend of Grenache, Mouved, and Counnoise (which I have never heard of). Fresh floral notes and red fruits on the nose, healthy acid, citrus. Little bit of bitterness on medium length/complexity finish. Very drinkable, though not remarkable. — 8 years ago
I've been on the hunt for this for a while now, and I'm happy to finally get some in my glass. The juicy cab franc with its spicy and peppery undertones does take in a Loire direction, but then the zweigelt adds a different sort of funk that pushes it into new territory. A lot going on here for such a quaffable wine, and it comes across as dynamic, alive and idiosyncratic. It also pushes all my happy buttons. Yum. Holla @Phil Ashton! — 8 years ago
Great wine...amazing balance! — 9 years ago
Sample from Estate. Deep and clear yellow, love this wine from the start, so visually appealing. Beautifully complex nose that started off with a little bit of oak influence, toasted nuts. Layers created the complexity with notes of stone fruits, and some citrus, almost like a lemon curd. Day two the nose got a little sappier, as in thicker and dark with some honeysuckle. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and full bodied. Creamy mid palate with vanilla bean and honeysuckle in the front. Long finish that brings through a more Burgundy feel with lemon and a little minerality. Absolutely delicious and killer value for only $25.00. Drink now or enjoy till 2023. — 9 years ago

Stone fruits, tangerine and lime fruit. Leesy, nutty and touch of lactic. Acidity is pitch perfect and there’s fluid length to the finish. Real solid expression — 6 years ago
