Jotting these notes the morning after... on the pop this had quite the reductive funk, something I enjoy. After a couple hour decant the tannins settled and a balanced Syrah was cleanly revealed. Game, spice, smoke, blood, plus dark fruits, olive oil... so good. — 7 years ago
Crisp lemon, floral notes, wet stone, nice acidity. #arnotroberts — 8 years ago

Small group for this month's WTF wine meet up, so why not hit up Fort Worth's best BYOB?
I didn't know AR made a cab, but I am very much happy to have found out they did. What a lovely change up from the fruit bombs out of Napa. This could pass for a young high quality Bordeaux producer. No leather notes, but I wasn't hit in the face with every fruit on the color spectrum. Decadent blackberries wrapped in clove, and rhubarb pie. Beautiful texture on the palate. Plums, and black licorice in the mid palate but the finish has a sweet french bread, black cherry cola note. Thanks Jose! — 8 years ago
13.7% alc.
7 barrels made. $90/btl.
From AR note sheet:
"42 year old dry farmed vines grown at 2000' above the Sonoma Valley in volcanic loam. Fermented 30% whole cluster and basket pressed to 30% new French oak barrels for 23 months of elevage." — 9 years ago
Very nice cool climate Syrah, my fave. Nice fruit, but no impression of sweet. Nice tannin finish. — 10 years ago
Cherry, with a slightly dank, earthy, mushroom side. Acidity is right where I like it. Drinking so well! Recommended by my favorite somm ;) — 6 years ago
Explosive Howell Mountain juice. Make no mistake this wine is big and warrants respect. Dark chocolate and cherries on the nose. Even the smallest sip fils the mouth. Incredible structure and big tannins. Inky, dark and mysterious at times....as it sits and opens up this gets bigger and richer. Just brilliant. — 8 years ago
Too easy to drink. — 10 years ago
I wanted more from this. A lot of fruit but not a lot of syrah typicty. Pretty though. — 11 years ago
This stuff rocks. Melon and stone fruit and really concentrated. The year of bottle age helped. — 12 years ago
