I liked it but too sweet for Warren — 6 years ago
Really tasty Napa Chardonnay with a nice balance of creaminess and minerality. Not too oaky, not too steely, but just right, with a touch of nutmeg on top. Enjoyed the 2016 vintage with lobster bisque and a grilled 3-lb lobster at The Palm Restaurant in LA. — 6 years ago
Popped and poured. This is a hedonistic Barbaresco that's not shy about the fact it's brought more than a decent amount of fruit to the party. Quite a bit different than the Ferrando Carema we also opened tonight. That being said, it's very satisfying with plenty of character to back up the fruit. This is one of those wines that nerds and casual wine drinkers can both get into. Drink now though 2028. — 7 years ago
Powerful, medium bodied Barolo, with lots of texture, exquisite notes of spice, dark fruit, and lively acidity. Delightful with pork loin, making for a memorable winter evening. — 8 years ago

Terrific rose of pinot noir from Maggie Harrison of Antica Terra. This is not your garden-variety rose: serious skin contact time coupled with her incredible wine-making abilities has produced a really substantive wine. Reminds me a bit of Manfred’s SQN roses (not surprising, I guess, since Maggie worked with Manfred for I believe a decade or so before striking out on her own with what I think is the best winery in the Willamette Valley). Do yourself a favor and try to snag some of this. Terrific juice. — 4 years ago
