Branco de Talha Regional Alentejano 2010

2020 vintage. A blend of 70% Roupeiro and 30% Antão Vaz, vinified together in amphora by winemakers António Maçanita and Sandra Sárria. Unlike stated by one comment here, this is not oxidative whatsoever. Pear, quince, flowers and a hint of fresh mint. Medium-bodied with juicy white fruit, tight acidity, fresh herbs and very good mineral length. Abv. 12,5%. — 2 years ago

vm-Castelão CoZs de Montexuntos 2020

Fresh & juicy with crunchy black fruit and a doll, stony undercurrent. Plus just a hint of spice - allspice, cloves, anise, cinnamon. Lively & engaging.
Mid weight in the palate with bright juicy acidity, pure black fruit and slightly rustic yet v. juicy tannins. Fresh, juicy, very food friendly. Perfect match with steak frites!

António Macanita Alentejo Red Blend 2018

Deep vibrant ruby colour, very lively. Lots of ripe strawberry on the nose with a hint of earthiness. Moderately bold with oaky tannins. A little sweet with a touch of heat on the finish. Lingers on the palate. — 4 years ago

António Macanita Arinto dos Açores 2017

Very nice white wine from the Azores. Indigenous grape, Arinto, from the Pico area. Lots of unripe citrus peel and stone on the nose. Mouth filling and precise with excellent acid and a long finish. Expressive yet restrained. Great savory saline quality - a wine to be enjoyed over some time as it unfolds. Excellent with oysters and other seafood. — 6 years ago

Signature Series António Macanita Terrantez do Pico 2015

Azorerna, wow! 1413 flaskor totalt! — 8 years ago

Very cool and unique wine, nice to try it again. Pears, lemons, oyster shell, crushed rocks on the nose. Beautiful salinity on the palate. A little short and one dimensional but great@expression of terroir. reminds me of a Chablis. — 3 years ago

Alentejano White Blend 2018

2018 vintage. White Alentejo blend (Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Antao Vaz, Tamarez, Alicante Branco and Arinto) by winemakers António Maçanita and Sandra Sarria. Old vines, whole bunch fermentation, no malolactic. Bright yellow. Spicy and floral with power and some complexity. Authentic and very good value. — 5 years ago

António Macanita Arinto dos Açores

Volcanic Verdelho do Pico (different from the Portuguese mainland Verdelho, also known as Godello in Spain) from vineyards located on 3 different islands - Pico, Graciosa and S. Miguel- in the Azores archipelago. Virtually at sea level and unusually close to the Ocean, vines grow on very poor volcanic basalt soils, surrounded by traditional stone-walled “currais” to protect them from the extreme Atlantic winds. Salty and mineral. Thirst-quenching acidity. Passion fruit. 🌋 🌋 — 6 years ago

A very good Portuguese red with some nice fruit. Little bit tannic. I think some grilled beef would pair with it nicely. — 6 years ago
