So much sweaty animal. In the best way. Illuminating. — 11 years ago
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to taste the three La La's from the 1999 vintage side by side last night. La Turque was, by far, the most concentrated and frankly, massive of the three. Impressive aromas of dust, earth, iron, game, spice, damp clay, blood, meat and bone. Sculpted layers of flavor, depth and sheer power continue in the mouth with brooding black fruit, mouth-coating, yet balanced tannins, a compelling animal quality, savory notes, dollops of spice. This wine is an amazing, bordering on spiritual journey. — 12 years ago
Animal, white pepper, blackberry, barnyard, bell pepper, iron, wet rocks, violets, pottery soil, pencil shavings. Excellent acidity/smooth velvet tannin balance. Light bodied, juicy texture, long earthy finish. Slightly rustic, endlessly interesting. — 11 years ago
Virile, in the best sense of the word; this wine is like drinking a sexy animal. — 12 years ago
Complejo, suave. — 13 years ago
Dried sour fruits, dank, animal, leather, earth. Funky and integrated. I want grilled lamb with this — 11 years ago
From mag. Super traditional--smoke, spice and animal. Feather light but fuzzy tannins. Decanted 8 hours and needed every minute. — 12 years ago

Still, very very very well done and very very very good. Very powerful and animal, at the same time super delicate and subtle. Stays hundred years on your palate. J'adore! — 11 years ago
