I'm a sucker for Malbecs-especially this one :) — 10 years ago
Terrific at the open, silky smooth texture and very round and balanced with a nice long finish. Kosta Brown's elegant touch shows in the structure of this big subtly jammy syrah. Too bad there's probably no '04's available but I'm loving this wine. — 11 years ago
Caramel brittle on the nose, very light at first and explodes into a crescendo of subtle flavours -- vanilla and spice. Long and complicated finish. The taste just seems to grow infinitely after you've swallowed. — 11 years ago
Turpentine, tree sap and resin; hoshigaki and dried apricot. Deep amber colour, lots of skins, solidly tannic. — 7 years ago
Super tannic and dry amber white. Such a good grip on those tannins, my goodness — 9 years ago

Med-deep amber color. Ultra appealing nose with loads of sweet honey, dried apricots, maple syrup, crushed almonds and a hint of wet stones. Med+ bodied, quite oily mouthfeel, very round and intense caramel, maple syrup and hint of smoky component. This wine attacks your entire palate in an attractive way. I like this a lot despite slight bitter finish. Paired perfect with chu toro (medium fatty tuna). 375 ml. 14.5% alc. 1989 vintage — 9 years ago

Lovely clear amber colour and orange marmalade nose but a little closed. Also, it seemed like it had 'eaten' a lot of it's sugar, without gaining richness and acidity to take it's place. Very pleasant but a little under expectation. — 10 years ago
Steph and I enjoyed. — 10 years ago
This one really waked me up. Skin macerated Malvasia (60 days) from the Parma hills. Beautiful amber colour. This is their basic white. Would like to try more. Nice introduction @ Le Baratin — 10 years ago
1996 vintage. Medium amber. Rice pudding on the nose, ambrosia, honey, honey dew melon. On the palate, very similar to the nose. Medium plus acidity, medium body and pronounced flavour concentration. Deep and nutty on the finish. Burned caramel. Excellent. — 11 years ago
It was worth the wait. Hoppy, resinous, rich, full bodied Amber. Just delicious — 11 years ago
Half-bottle. The wine was medium amber in colour and offered orange peel, apple, honeycomb, caramel, smoke, spices, sherry and a mouldy note on the nose. On the palate the wine showed orange, peach, apple, cane sugar, caramel, smoke, spices, creamy honey, some coffee, a hint of chocolate, sherry, mild black tea and a mouldy note, paired with medium-plus acidity, a creamy honey mouthfeel and very good length. Judged by this half-bottle the wine has just passed its plateau and started its slow journey on the downward slope. A good, medium-bodied Sauternes with lots of botrytis character. Drink now. 89 — 12 years ago
