1997 , it is pure gold, it has the color of an aged sautern, great acidity and a beautiful youth for a 22 year old Riesling. exceptional!!!!!!! — 6 years ago

Wet rocks and candied lemons and way more. Alzinger, I adore you! — 9 years ago
Alzinger Riesling Smaragd. La cualificación más alta en Wachau, para vinos con un mínimo de 12,5%. Glicérico, sedoso, como si estuviera fermentado en barrica — 10 years ago
One of the better Wachau Gruner I've had, without a doubt. Complex, rich, elegant, herbal- everything Gruner should be. Lovely citrus aromas, intensely herbal flavors. There's a "brothiness" in texture, a certain kind of salinity, that I find very refreshing. At this price point I must say that it is more appealing to the GV devotees out there, but I say so reluctantly because it is a wine with great charm and wonderful fruit that I think most anyone can enjoy. — 7 years ago
Dürnsteiner Riesling Smaragd, Wachau 2011. Impresionante, una y otra vez. La gama aromática de este vino es inagotable — 9 years ago
Green green green but fleshy and ripe. Smell a little bit like smarties- fruity and sour but not that sweet ultimately. — 5 years ago

Actually my first ever Lauer. Cannot believe that myself..:: served blind, I started off in Rheinhessen (maybe Wittman?) but finally decided upon a GV from Alzinger in Wachau. Liked it very much but lacked Mosel tension, slate minerality and racy acidity impressive concentration. Very good wine, hoping to be something else? — 7 years ago
Had it November 2011.
Bright straw yellow. Citrus, pineapple and paw paw. White pepper, coriander and Asian spices. Earthy, tuff. Full palate with minerally notes, smokiness in evidence. Important flavour and typical I should say of a Wachau Gruner Veltliner. Super young, great potential, but already very enjoyable for the best taster. Hints of peanut butter ✌️ — 9 years ago
Wow, this shows the extreme difference between botrytis infected👎(inflected) 👎wines and non. Last night, 97 knoll, Gruner Smargd. Tonight, 97 Prager Riesling Smargd ( non botrytis inflected/ infected)
What a frickin delish non infected wine. Prager; absolutely gorgeous after 18 years! Bright yellow with incredible depth of fruit while still having amazing acidity at this age. The Knoll , While drinkable, was past its prime.
sign me up for Prager, Niholiahof & Alzinger (among others) — 9 years ago

Spellbindingly pure and graceful. There is ripeness and intensity here (the Wachau is warm!) but not at the cost of precision and detail. There is delicate but fleshy yellow fruit, green herbs, chamomile and white pepper, and a sense of lightness that is captivating — 4 years ago
