I love a strong white. Very deep straw color, light nutty cheese notes, helped cut through and temper the sweetbreads it was paired with. — 8 years ago
Alpine nose. Smells like fresh rain, mountain dew (not the crap), forest scents of pine scrub or almost spruce. Invigorating, herbal finish of dandelion and fresh herbs, almost has a 'healing' or therapeutic finish...and no, I am not drinking this at an Alpine spa! — 8 years ago

Always love a white with a hint of cherry in it. Reminds me of Tessier, which is a high compliment indeed. 2014 vintage — 10 years ago

Incredibly unique wine, Grüner Veltliner-esque with delicious green earthiness with notes of arugula and citrus fruits with a nice white pepper finish — 8 years ago
CVed 10/11/17. Acker11. White flowers and nuts and blast of acids on nose. Palate of minerals and acids and almonds and hints of surprising fruit sweetness just beneath the tension and long finish. Energy! Mouth puckering acidity. Great food wine. First taste of Altesse. Vieilles Vignes. Need to compare with Brondien. — 9 years ago

Huge nose. Huge aromas. Green apple, spice, white alpine fields of flowers. Also fresh tilled dirt. Like the freshest. Huge earnest and vocal aromatic minerality reminds me of Chenin Muscadet. Like Coteaux de Loir or Jasnieres. So layered and complex. Really just ethereal and so distinct. This is one of the longest aging Altesse out there. Wow, so elegant and pure with just searing mineral force. Juicy and so balanced with unreal acidity and depth. This is not for everyone in that it has a severity/austerity not meant for every drinker but all my geeks will adore this. So luscious. It’s the liquid equivalent of a long, meandering Tarkovsky film like Stalker or Nostalgia. Love it. — 6 years ago
