Just enough fizz to open it without a corkscrew. Hint of almond and green, still holding a good amount of acid. — 8 years ago
Perfect condition btl opened for 5 hrs. Light yellow gold. Nose has lemon, almond paste, stone. Rich and glycerol in the mouth. Really nice fine grain acidity and very long finish. Great wine. — 9 years ago
Great Syrah, red fruit, lots of pepperiness of the long finish. Went well with BBQ ribs. — 10 years ago
This is a very good wine. Still can get it at Costco $22. — 10 years ago
Great for barbecuing in the Summer — 10 years ago
Dry, not too fruity, slightly more oaky for a typical Pinot — 10 years ago
Bright and promising nose with camomile, pear, almond tones. A lot of mineral and chalk on the mouth, longish aftertaste with almond. Would love to compare how Arneis develops with age, sure it suits him. — 7 years ago

My limited experience of Napa Valley Chardonnays have been usually the over oaked ultra ripe variety so this Stony Hill was a refreshing change. Stony Hill have been making Chardonnay since 1952 so have great experience with the variety. Pale to mid Gold. Non oaky no malolactic in fact neutral wood is used. Honey sweet palate with nectarine and almond. In the 1001 Wines book and deservedly so. — 8 years ago
So pure. Mineral, citrus, a bit floral, and a hint of almond. Such an incredible value — 9 years ago
Nose is aromatic with orange blossom and a slight hint of tomato leaf. Not quite as briny as Albariño but crisp and refreshing — 9 years ago
Pale greenish straw color, looks (and is) extremely youthful. Almond / marzipan nose, some butter, baked pear and melon. Crazy young and still tightly wound. Ethereal. Going to be great if not already. — 10 years ago
Mineral but fruity. Very well rounded. Crisp, refreshing, a lingering finish with the slightest Hint of nut. Almond? Excellent summer wine! — 10 years ago

The 2014 d'Yquem has a complex bouquet with buttered toast, almond, honey and peach skin aromas. It opens with greater zeal than its peers, there is more immediacy here. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, a finely tuned and satisfying Sauternes with style and grace, evincing great tension and mineral drive towards the finish. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2018) — 7 years ago
