Does no betray that it is a SB at first blush. The grass is more a tertiary aroma beneath maybe a green apple nose.
On the palate the acid predominates but is not obtrusive. The wine is probably more of a Loire valley signature.
Rosslyn and Alix did not appreciate this wine at all. In fact they disliked it so much they did not drink it. — 5 years ago

Will end up replacing my Blackjack Alix de Vergy. Perfectly balanced deep berry, barn wood and a bit of earthiness. Smooth throughout with a very clean cherry finish. — 11 years ago
Always loved this wine by Alix. Beauty while so young. Not the intensity of the 2010 but very elegant. — 12 years ago
This is such a hidden gem. Alix and Etinne's negociant label. Do I see the Roulot influence here (wink wink)? I guess so. Very muted on the nose: minerality, honey, white flowers, ripe citrus, and stone fruits. Sooo much more expressive on the palate! Very broad and soft textures, white Brioche, baking spices, apple blossoms, medium+ very integrated and soft acidity. LONG finish. — 4 years ago

Amazing purity with gorgeous fruit completely balanced by perfect acidity. An energetic bouquet jumps from the glass. Red currants, kirsch liquer, with a silky texture. — 11 years ago

99 was the last bottle drunk by Hubert, last year when he passed away! I had to decant it, but lady's and gentlemen, this is history! Etienne, Alix, my dear friend I cheers to you and your late legendary father Hubert — 11 years ago
