Has Vermentino fallen out of favour with Italians and is being replaced by a taste for Chardonnay?
Maybe but I don't want to believe it yet.
On hot summer days there is not much more refreshing than a well chilled glass of Vermentino. Chilled is a must - it still has enough oomph in the nose to release its floral essence. Once it comes up to room temp it can be overwhelmingly perfumey IMHO. Good acid balance.
I'm pretty convinced that you can trust anything from Fontori to be a solid choice. — 4 months ago

Really nice; had it on Rob’s birthday (52) — 9 months ago
Threw a few of these in the cellar just to see what would happen. Finally coming into its own in Hour 2. Dark blue black fruits, nice acidity, balanced. Really nice. Great for Sunday pasta and red sauce. — 3 years ago

Young, robust, very fruity. Lovely. With very good Piemontese cuisine at "L'Acino" restaurant, Torino. — 5 months ago

We had a delicious wine at an English manner called Beaverbrook: UK. — 2 years ago
Smoke and earth, good fruit and little tannins. Delicious! — 3 years ago
Smell like a Dr Pepper but with none of the additives (obviously). Skrate cherry cola. Cranberry and cutting acidity. Supple and generous but light and pristine at the same time. Vg — 8 years ago
Black cherry, herbaceous and leather. Not lengthy but freshness from the light acidity. Pleasant drink — 10 years ago
... forse la più grande bottiglia di vino base sangiovese mai assaggiata fino ad ora ! — 12 years ago
Clear, pale ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of cherry, raspberry, and smoke. On the palate, it's dry with high acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of tart cherry, hibiscus, and wet slate with a medium finish. This wine is intense, complex, and with enough fruit to balance the acidity. Overall, I would rate this wine as very good. — 4 months ago

Fairly well balanced, light for a Tuscan but sufficiently flavorful. Better on the 2nd and 3rd nights if well capped. Simple evening dinner-wine with a comfortable 13% alc. Definitely a good value from TJ. — 7 months ago
This is very elegant & harmonious.
Dark sour cherry with some crushed stone and a pinch of orange peel & herbs. Fresh. Juicy.
On the palate this is very smooth, juicy, with great flow and beautiful balance. The 14.5% alc perfectly integrated.
Nice depth & length, too. — 10 months ago
