Cuvée Alexandre Apalta Vineyard Carménère 2022

Blackberry, chocolate and spicy aromas. Medium tannins and juicy. Went nicely with a hamburger blended with mild jalapeño and cheese. I would get this wine again. — a month ago

Block Las Terrazas Pirque Viejo Vineyard Terrunyo Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

v15. Delicious! Soft smoked meat nose. Rich, dark, black currant and blackberry fruit. Smooth, long, slightly astringent, chewy, chalky chocolate and leather finish. Nicely balanced and enjoyable! — 2 months ago

Pipeño Aupa Maipo Valley Pais Cariñan 2021

Light and dry but funky, almost yeasty tannins mixed with berries. Distinct old vine Chilean varietals that I would like to see more of. — 2 years ago

Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Great vintage for this wine. Could have seen more years in bottle easily but desirable nonetheless. High altitude cab blend with lots fruit, oak, and light spice notes. Cheers. — 2 months ago

Reserva Casillero del Diablo Malbec 2021

One of the better “cheap” wines. Goes down smooth. Fruity, oaky aftertaste. I would put this one up against a pricier wine at any fine steakhouse. — 3 months ago

Los Vascos Valle de Colchagua Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

Don’t hate the rating…. Hate the reality… A wonderful example of a winemaker who threw out price and built a wine that made it 25 years. Herbaceous and medium bodied… — 2 years ago

Casa Lapostolle

Clos Apalta Limited Release Carménère Blend 1997

Medium ruby , quite wide ruby / garnet rim , but very little bricking . Very young looking . Quite deep on the nose with dusty spiced cassis and dark fruits and coffee , slightly toasty , leather. On the palate quite dark fruits , cassis , spiced plum , roasted peppers , with those coffee notes. Quite sweet on the mid palate with ripe but still noticeable tannin, good balanced and acidity and balanced alcohol . Pretty decent length with a leather , coffee tinged finish . Still drinking very well , and will do over the next 5-8 years . — 2 months ago

These are great, my 90's bottles are long gone, wish I still had, only 2001 forward now.

EQ Coastal Sauvignon Blanc 2019

On a hot almost-summer night this wine hits the spot! ☀️

It’s a Sauvignon Blanc from the Valle de Casablanca D.O. in Chile 🇨🇱 where the vines from which it hails receive cooling influences from the Pacific Ocean breezes, lending balance and preserving acidity. 🌊

It’s no wonder this wine is labeled EQ as in Equilibrio (the Spanish word for balance), because it offers a wonderful balance of ripe tropical fruit aromas and flavors with vibrant acidity and notable minerality. 🍍 🥭

The aromas and flavors are fresh, albeit ripe, generally tropical with passion fruit, guava, mango, underripe pineapple, also green apple, gooseberry, freshly cut grass, and wet slate.

It’s a perfect patio pairing and fun to explore the beauty of new world Sauvignon Blanc from this region.

It’s also a great value at $12.99. 👏👏👏👏👏

Matetic Vineyards, E.Q., Coastal Sauvignon Blanc, D.O. Valle de Casablanca, Viñedo Valle Hermoso, Chile. Vintage 2019. ABV 13.5%.

Cheers !!
