Hit all of the high notes. Whether it was open for 30 minutes or 3 hours. — 6 years ago
Notes of luscious caramel syrup with hazelnuts and raisins — 7 years ago
Mahogany color with molasses, caramel, espresso, bittersweet chocolate and subtle baking spice aromas. On the palate it's full bodied, viscous, and very persistent with a supple mouth feel that's beautifully balanced with a penetrating acidity that keep it from being cloying and persistent with very good acidity that keeps it from being cloying and provides balance. It shows very sweet flavors of molasses, honey-dipped figs, dates, caramel, and baking spice nuanced citrus note with a kiss of oxidation that adds to its allure and complexity. Long finish — 9 years ago
color was a dense deep red with aromas of ripe dark fruits and gentle complementing spice. The flavors were very fresh and concentrated with blackberries, cherries and currants constantly changing on the palate, showing a great mouthfeel. The tannins were a bit tight as the bottle was not decanted and only opened for about 30 minutes. The ending had spice, cedar and touch of cacao on the lingering finish. An elegant wine that needs time to develop, try in another 3-5 years, although should last for a decade. Tasting Sample. — 9 years ago
Rich nutty notes with an incredibly long finish — 11 years ago
Had this 6 mos ago at Tasting, liked it, bought several bottles for cellar. Blend of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot & Malbec, made by 30 year Chappellet winemaker Phillip Titus. Deep Ruby, purple edges, youthful aromas of black fruit, spices and flinty notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with some vanilla and tobacco and herbal floral notes. Vivid acidity & firm tight tannins with long finish ending with a youthful character, aging well should benefit from bottle aging. — 5 years ago

One of my favorite California Right Bank Bordeaux Blends. Cherry, earthy, mushroom. Beautifully balanced. — 6 years ago
Was a dumbo and didn't realize I had bought Sherry?
Very light golden yellow. Smells of candied nuts but tastes of proscuitto a little bit (salty). — 7 years ago
Wonderful, complex and full even after 30 years. Tannins still crisp and adds to length of finish. Was not expecting that. Love old french Bordeaux's so consider my review biased. — 8 years ago
One of the best wineries in Napa. Can be consumed now but would benefit for a few years aging as tannins are very firm and surround the fruit forward taste. Still amazing, especially after 30-45 min in a decanter — 9 years ago
Stunning at almost 30 years of age. Decanted for an hour or so, opened beautifully. Pipe tobacco, plum, dank pit (Moe the bartender), tons of anise, soft tannins with some grip, holding up incredibly well. I would have guessed mid to late 90's napa cab based on looks and taste... thanks @Matthew Nagy what a treat. — 9 years ago
A good very Chateauneuf. Still young but it opens up after 30-45 minutes. — 10 years ago
Best. Sherry. Ever. — 10 years ago
Un Xeres exceptionnel, âgé de presque 43 ans! D'une complexité ahurissante — 12 years ago
Tried 6mos ago. Began 1916, Juan Gil Giménez, great-grandfather of present generation, built winery in heart of Jumilla. Blue label spent 18 months in new oak (wine formally known as 18 mos representing time in bottle, now “Blue Label.” Monastrell, Cab Sauv & Syrah blend (60/30/10), low yield, aromas of red berry and toasty oak. Palate shows flavors of dark berry fruits, espresso, cacao and hints of sweet spice. Big dusty tannins, well integrated with oak, lingering, well balanced. Aged well, still going! — 5 years ago
Label based on Little Prisoner etching, by Francisco de Goya. Deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and hints of woody spice. Aged 30% on new oak, combo of French/American barrels, blend of Zin, Cab Sauv, Petite Sirah, Syrah & Charbono. Palate shows flavors of sweet cherry, blueberry & raspberry, zesty spice lively acidity, good balance. Fine tannins, long finish ending with cacao & oaky character. — 6 years ago
Very honeyed and less mellow than the 40 year. Still mighty complex — 7 years ago
Stored since bottling in Bordeaux and recorked/topped up in 1999. Tasted like Wine from start to finish but not without its ups and downs. Interestingly after 30 minutes open you really got a beautiful complex wine with an exceptionally long finish and faint but discernible structure. Mature but interesting and classically Bordeaux. — 8 years ago
Ambar pálido con cierta turbiedad. Espectacularmente aromática. Frutos secos, miel y bajamar. Fresca, salina y muy muy persistente. Perfecta para maridajes atrevidos. — 8 years ago
Great Bordeaux hitting a nice peak at 30, with time in hand! All the tannins are resolved, but the dark cassis fruit is still sweet and fresh. Long finishing stuff, highlighted with a touch of black tea. With steak and potatoes- a brand new pairing. — 9 years ago
Held up very well for a 30 year old wine. Took about 1-2 hours to really open up and hit its peak. Finished by hour 3 as it seemed to tail off. Very cool drinking a Lafite. — 9 years ago
Fresh and lively. So good with lamb. Very pure fruit. This is too young, but still approachable. — 10 years ago

Iconic spring season champagne. There are many reasons everyone loves this stuff - Grand Cru fruit, 36 months on lees, Billecart’s unique vinification process - but the best reason is that it is just so darn delicious. Tonight, the bouquet was intense and very much like a Chablis Grand Cru. Upon pouring into the glass, one notices the fine, elegant mousse rising from the bottom. Then the first sip - strawberries and pear with undertones of nuanced brioche and yeast. The style here is elegant and finessed. Beautiful juice! Tonight’s bottle disgorged in May, 2018. 50/30/20 chard/PN/PM, 9g/l dosage, 40% reserve wine. You will be hard pressed to find a better bottle of champagne in the $75-$90 price range. Well done!
