Dry and full-bodied with notes of cherry, white peach and almond leading into a river-rock minerality (Chateauneuf-du-Pape is less than ten miles away.) Rubens Chablis. Acids are not sharp and pointy but fat and rounded. Unique mouthfeel. Great wine from an enclosed vineyard near the town of Béru. Grapes are coming from this vineyard since the 13th century. I'm glad Athénaïs stopped banking and started doing this. — 10 years ago

Sadly, this was my last bottle of the '94 La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon '13th Anniversary Release'. Under Helen Turley's superlative winemaking skills these mid-nineties efforts were quite formidable. Big smoky aromas of black fruit and minerals explode from the glass. I still tasted the slowly diminishing flavors well over a minute after swallowing. Absolutely a heavenly wine! — 13 years ago
