Rich, full bodied. Bold vibrant dark red fruit with a savory edge. Well integrated tannins hinting of tobacco and cedar.

Good Amarone, but not exceptional. Not worth the price. Cherry flavor marred by harsh tannins and sour aftertaste.

Absolutely lovely. Especially with Sophia Loren singing the soundtrack. Rich, opulent.. sensual.

After a 1 hr decant, the nose on this was initially all terrestrial. Mulch mainly. On the palate the attack carries forward the bouquet but rapidly gives way to a spearmint that hits the back corners of the tongue. I'm not sure how to react. Depending on the pairing this could be great or mediocre. The finish is a some-sugar peaches or mango flavor, with very mild tannins.

UPDATE: I have to demote this. I'll keep it 91 for its complexity--I was even getting some floral notes on the last glass. But the residual sweetness/spearmint just didn't work for me.
