There are several previous Delectable notes for this wine. Very rich Ruby in colour. Wonderful aromatics - Plum, spice, mint, garden herbs and coffee grounds - the remnants of a fair bit of oak in its youth. Full bodied and solid even at 20 years. A big Barossa Shiraz from a good cool vintage where there was long hang time for the grapes. Tannins are still M+ but resolving. Still life in this old girl yet!

Nice leather, eucalyptus, kirsch notes. Great concentration of fruit despite its age.

XIII 2002 - A big wine - massive from old shiraz vines, spent 22months in barrels, a brilliant wine that needs time to breath in a carafe, full bodied, high extraction and full body - tannins start to get more classy and elegant as the years goes by 😃

Pruney ripe flavours at 15 years even though from a cooler year ( long hang time). A big full bodied wine. Some coffee notes. Personally over the years I have become to like the more Northern Rhone spicy, peppery minerally style over the full bodied fruity Barossa style like this.

Very Dark Ruby- almost black. Ripe Pruney aromas with blackberry and touch of mint. Rich and fullbodied with plenty of extraction on the palate. This is Yalumbas premium Barossa Shiraz cuvée. Ripe fruit but from a cooler year and therefore long hang time in the Vineyard. Soft and generous flavours typical of the Barossa.

Yalumbas premium Shiraz cuvée. Ripe Blackberry with Coffee Mocha oak notes. Full bodied rich Barossa Shiraz finishing with smooth tannins. Still with a decade in front of it IMO.

Decanted and sipped while packing for Norway and Aurora Borealis. Big out of of the gate but gorgeous, supple and generous for 4 hours of coiffing while editing my steamer trunk.
