Turned the corner into some nice terchiary, underbrushy iron’y character. Still going strong. Very much Mendocino

Nose of black pepper, wet leaves, moist forest air, fresh picked blackberry, berry vines, damp earth, and tree bark. Tannins are still holding on, a bit chalky on the tip of the tongue. Acidity down the side of the tongue that lingers long into the finish. The palate is quite a bit tighter. Red fruit comes through, but under ripe, maybe red plum skin, tart. The dusty tannins cover the fruit a bit. The pepper and earth come through as well. This still has plenty of life to it. I would give this at least 3 years and possibly deep into 2020 or longer. It’s not ready yet.

Fantastic mineral and rocky aromas lead to the always pretty red strawberry flavors on this wine keeping it interesting and not just tasty. A real treat and drinking great!

What’s not to like about this wine with a nice piece of salmon?

Great. Not a fruit bomb. Aroma of some rose water and slight leather some sour cherry in mouth slight acid on finish. But very good. Ok tannin could last a few years
