It has held up, but I’m glad to have opened it sooner rather than later. Wonderful complement to fish and meat on the grill.

A big year at 14.4% so that sweet red fruit is starting to fade and lose acidity, with air it gained interest with rose petals and that chalky quartz. It was a delight to drink from a great vineyard. Not built to improve at this point and it seems this period of WS was more for immediate pleasure and that time has passed.

This magnum was a nice pair with Thanksgiving turkey. 2006 was a weird vintage in Sonoma but I like the feminine pinots that were produced -- they're drinking well eight years later.
