Precise and pure. This is just soo good. Petroleum, mineral and lime zest. Round and full but still lively and fresh.

The '16 Von der Fels was gorgeous, with an almost savory bouquet, displaying provencal herbs up front, followed by notes of green apple, lemon, and crushed seashell. On the palate, I found weighty textures, yet nearly imperceptible; the result of a mix of intense tart citrus, zippy acidity and saline-minerality with a spring of lemon zest and savory herbs that revisited toward the close. The finish was fresh with a lasting buzz of mineral-strewn citrus and minerals. The longer this wine sat in the glass, the more it seemed to grow

Bone dry and linear. Very enjoyable and shows apple, lemon zest, slate and minerality. There may be a tad of kiwi too. The 2018 is more open now but this is delicious and great refreshment for the heat.

This is my second go at Von der Fels from Keller, the man many think makes the best Rieslings on the planet today. While I thought his entry levels were a little bit of an acid flex, Von der Fels again hits outer worldly levels of beauty through smoke, flinty fruits - pear, grapefruit, some spice. Supreme treat for Riesling nerds.

Blend of 3 GG sites, younger vines. “from the Rocks”. Like drinking a lemon sweettart. Insanely good, dry, intense acid, weightless, flawless

Tons of purity and upper register power for the price—I’m sure would gain more complexity with time.

Excruciatingly intense, with a crackling fervency that pierces in high definition and yet I keep coming back for more (it’s my second bottle since Sunday). The fruit opens with the outside of a fresh peach pit, a whole pineapple, the best kiwi you’ve ever tasted, and all of it left to soak in lime juice. The fruit is equally matched by an ultra-focused minerality that combines dry chalk and bitter stone. The fruit and rock collide with so much excess energy that the flavor arcs across your palate like electricity.
