Deep inky in color with a tiny purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, black plums, vanilla, toasted oak, leather, licorice, spices, metals, chocolates, tobacco, diet cola, light eaucaliptus and black pepper.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, black currants, coffee, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco leaf, bitter vegetables and peppercorn.
Long finish with green tannins (bitter and aggressive) and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice surprise. An enjoyable Petite Sirah from California. Big and bold with nice complexity. Still young but already enjoyable, even by itself. (I actually enjoyed these big tannins).
Needs a year or two in the bottle to mature, and an hour to open up properly and show the tannins.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Sep 15th, 2017Blackberry, blueberry. Hearty and dry. With an alcoholy finish. Big wine that's a good bargain. Ideally the alcohol wouldn't be so strong on the finish, but good for the price. Good with meat.

Nose is strong, but not fruity. Flavor is not ripe red berries. Tannic. Medium body. Nice balance.
