Gala Apple, stone fruit, huge minerality, a touch of diesel/kerosine, full glycerin mouthfeel and nice acid. Had with yellowtail sashimi, yum.

2011 Vintage: This is often considered one of the least interesting varietals from Alsace, but it's one I always enjoy. Although this is fairly young, it almost drinks like a white burgundy with some bottle age. It has some lovely nutty aromas and tastes like fresh golden fruit.

$16 for a 2011 Pinot Gris from an amazing producer! This wine is nothing special but it shows you the power that can be had in white wine from an amazing region.
