Vintage 2016 - Peppers, cedar, sultry. High in alcohol and high in bitters. At this moment I miss balance.

Very one dimensional and lack of depth and finish. Black fruit bomb and jam, little bit heat.

The wine is deep ruby colour. On the nose the wine has medium(+) intensity aromas with primary aromas of black fruit (black plum, black cherry and blackberry) vegetable (beans) and secondary aromas of oak (coffee, dark chocolate, charred wood) and a hint of meat.
On the palate the wine is dry with medium acidity, high alcohol and medium(+) ripe soft tannins. The wine has medium(+) intensity flavours with primary flavours of black fruit (black plum, black cherry and blackberry) vegetable (beans) and secondary flavours of oak (coffee, dark chocolate, charred wood) and a hint of meat.
The wine is full bodied and has a medium(+) finish.
The wine is outstanding. The wine is fruity and juicy and has some hints of secondary aromas and flavors. The tannins are ripe and smooth and richness of fruit and the acidity balance out the high alcohol. The finish could be longer, but overall the wine is an outstanding example of new world Shiraz from a relatively warm climate with ripe black fruit flavors and a hint of meaty aromas and flavours.
The wine is suitable for bottle aging. Currently the wine seems very youthful. It is full of fresh and juicy black fruit aromas and flavours and is just beginning to show some tertiary aromas and flavours of cooked black plum and meat. The wine will continue to develop these aromas and typical aromas of Syrah over time. The wine has structure to develop with bottle aging. It is full bodied has medium acidity and medium(+) ripe soft tannins that will support it over the next 5-7 years.

Lots of jammy dark berry and plum fruit. There are hints of tobacco, smoke, and black pepper, going in a Rhône direction. It doesn’t quite get there, but it’s still pleasant and easy drinking. Acidity is a little above medium, tannins are lower. There’s a little heat in the finish.

Solid Shiraz from Torbeck. Some spice, dark fruit and slightly earthy a bit like a Chateauneuf du Pape. Easy drinking and good value for money. It’s great that the Aussie producers have a full spectrum of the same varietals for people to enjoy. Torbeck, Two Hands, Penfolds and Glaetzer all have great options at multiple price points.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - the warm fuzzy sweater of wine. Excellent #qpr

Little earth and what seems like cedar on the nose. Does remind me of a cotes du Rhône. Dark purple, blackberry/ plum with some pepper; eucalyptus and an annisette- like taste. Lot going on for a $20 wine. Moderate tannins, no obtrusive oak. Well worth the price.
