Complex and beautifully evolved aromas and flavours with loads of energy still. Well handled oak treatment and great acidity wraps it up nicely on the lengthy finish. At 15+ years old, this is vivid stuff.

Torbreck 'The Steading' 2002, GSM, Barossa Valley, Australia. Found in The Sampler South Kensington, £25. Garnet with a brick red rim, dried red fruits and smooth oak, notes of vanilla and coconut. Carrying some weight from plenty of alcohol but well integrated. Delicious!

At a peak tonight, but maybe not its ultimate peak. Sultry and silky, plenty of funk but not particularly bretty.

Torbrecks GSM,
60% Grenache 20% Mataro 20% Shiraz,
Very good, but I still prefer the older Descendant bottles.

Great red fruit floral, spicy(cinnamon clove vanilla)nose, lots of tertiary development, leather, cedar and good acid structure.
