Unlike many California Chardonnay, this one has a bit more character and nuance. It is not a butter/oak bomb like so many. It was well balanced and paired nicely with a variety of dishes.

I am not a fan of the big "one note" chardonnays - all butter or all oak or nothing at all. So when I tasted this I was really happy. It has a little oak and a little buttery-ness, but not too much of anything. Just a really nice balanced wine. The folks I'm drinking it with all enjoyed it too, and they all have different preferences. I wish there were more wines made like this. NOTE: While reviewed honestly as a lover of balanced wines, Tobias is a winery that retains my sales and marketing firm.
