100/100. Again a perfect dead knock out from Krankl.

It was a Sine Qua Non night (which are always my favorites!). This was surprisingly tight given its age. Came back to it a couple of days later and it was SO MUCH better. If you have this in your cellar and are planning to pull it soon, I’d suggest a 4-hour decant to let it open up. It’ll be fantastic!

Tried to pop and pour but it was herbaceous on the rosemary side. Put it in the decanter and that dissipated somewhat. At the end of the evening it got quite acidic. It has been in my commercial storage since release so provenance not the issue. Dumb stage or off bottle we hope. 1st one from our six pack so no prior reference.

The Grenache actually, and not the Syrah. Way too young, and only a short decant. Typical SQN nose, dark fruits, spice cake, and rich raspberry fruit. A full-bodied, voluptuous and decadent Grenache that needs more cellar time to reach its full potential. The Marcassin was an 03 Chardonnay that absolutely pales in comparison to the mind-blowing 02. Not bad, just not great. Sort of like Lebron James is no Michael Jordan.
