Needs about 40min to an hour to fully open up. Starts off Bordeaux-ish then finishes up like a Napa cab.

...famed Boca CPA Richard G. drops off his tribute to Baby Mack. Sommelier at Tanzy gives me this bottle... Dark, rich, smooth finish... Opened up nice; so much so, tasted almost like a different wine and hour or so later... As I've written before about big Cabs in an Italian place... Would have been better with a Porterhouse, than my three dish pasta tasting menu... Look forward to drinking again.

Such a great difference when tasting the 2005 Silver Oak compared to the 2008. Such great deep, robust flavors.

Perfectly balanced with velvet mouthfeel and deep, but subdued baked fruit with a sprinkling of cinnamon and cloves. Mellowed and satisfying. Unfortunately, last one.

Very cab-y, not as oaky as expected. Major blue/purple fruit, a bit short

The 2005 has developed wonderful bouquet. Alcohol seems higher than the 13.5 listed on bottle.
