This was the winery back in 1998 which moved me to start researching wine in more detail. Relatively speaking, this is still so youthful. Back in the day when Silver Oak didn’t deploy mechanical harvesting at that time. This is just incredible. Still fruit-forward and opulent. Look at the color in the glass - very little visual bricking. Some tertiary notes of leather and herbs. This is a beauty to behold. Drink or hold this vintage.

13.1% alc. Still bright on the nose. Med color. Light body with red fruit character. Still enjoyable, but a few yrs past prime.

The cork disintegrated on me. Nose gave away the age with saddle leather and mushrooms. On the palette, fruit still dominates with lots of wood and vanilla. Still has a good tannic structure. I would recommend drinking this now, although it can be held for another 2 - 3 years.

Moderate length coming out just now. Tannins and oak flavor becoming more rustic, showing cedar, tobacco and other aged intrigues.

A surprise. Has held up well. Been a long time since it has SO but it was enjoyable.
