Big wine - plenty of stuffing to it, dark inky & brooding but ultimately missed the mark for me. Was hoping for more complexity & nuance to nose - this was very fruit forward and too hot w/unbalanced tannins vs acidity. It had its moments and for $12 it is absolutely drinkable, but let’s manage expectations here... I’d rather hold out for Napa fruit (or maybe get lucky w/Durif from AUS)

2017: dark, rich, dry. Cherries and smoke. Nice balanced tannins. This is a keeper, quite a bargain.
