If this is the new style of CA Chardonnay--after years of alcohol numbing honeyed syrup--I'm all in. This Chard is in the taste spectrum of a village white Burgundy but lacks the depth and weight of its French counterpart. That aside, at $19 this 2015 Santa Barbara white deserves a look, and certainly raises the QPR bar for other Californian Chards. Excellent job! (ABV 12.5% 😎👏🏻😎👏🏻)

This one is very much alive in the glass. Some buttery oak is present here, but the acidity steals the show. Key lime? I really enjoyed it.
