Bright, clear straw gold. White, quickly dissipating mousse. Baked apple and straw on the nose and palate. Biright acidity. Medium-light body. A tasty sparkling bargain at around $13 ($10 in states that don’t run alcohol monopolies), and a nice opportunity to drink a bit of history.

During the month of January, the Wednesday Wine Committee has a unique format...the sparkler, whites and dessert wines can be from any vintage and any location, but the reds must be from the 2007 vintage. It was my first time providing a wine for a lunch, so I was excited to see how it showed. As always, all wines were served blind.

This was the sparkler and my guess was between west coast sparkler or a French non vintage. There was a lot of fruit on this, mainly green apple. Not chalky or yeasty.

Quite sweet but fresh. Served as a palate cleanser, somewhat successfully.

For the price this can not be beat. Light and delightful. The bubbles are just fill your mouth. Acids and fruits abounding.

Small, effervescent bubbles. Slight sweetness. Simply delicious way to celebrate a work achievement! #costco

A new wine and new grape for me. Interesting history behind it. Hints of grass and apple with a creamy sift mouthfeel . Much richer than expected with nothing harsh. Very enjoyable while watching France win the cup!

Decent bubbly, wanted something nice but not Champagne spendy: this little gem was pretty good with a little red delicious apples and some citrus, had a trace of yeastiness but leaned heavily to a straightforward clean nervy style cutting through everything in its path. Not overly impressive as an Aperitif but fun for softer cheese/fruit/spreads
