Unlikely that anyone on Delectable has had this wine. Jancis Robinson ranked this high so i did drive to the winery many years ago boy is this remote. Pinot Noir from Franken is essentially unheard of. Spice, earth, dark fruit, lime. Lost some fruit! Drink up it is my last bottle and it was better years ago. I did see the soil - flat out limestone - like on the best sites in Burgundy. Anyways I would say drink up. Crew Cap! 13.5%.

Not imported. Suitcase import. Indistinguishable from a Burgundy! Really dark cherry - pomegranate - earthy - orange zest. Grows on limestone. From Franken an off the beaten path region. A shame that this is not imported. Will go 10 more years. Screw-cap. Why buy Burgundy if you can have this at a fraction of the price!

Christoph thinks this one is toll. This wine has real class highly rated by Jancis Robinson in 2013 with 17.5 points. Asleep when opened smokey flavor which blows off. Then dark berries on the nose root bear on the nose 😏 which vanishes. Cherry in the glass this wine can run with the best burgundies! Tea leaves, slightly bitter, persistent and long. Good now but has some more time left. This will end up in my blind tasting Burgundy versus Germany. A stunner most will take this for a Gevrey. The nose might give it away. I saw the soil pure limestone.
