Geyserville Sonoma County Zinfandel Blend

Christmas pairing with pistachio crusted rack of lamb. Near perfect. Lots to be thankful for.

This Geyserville is drinking great. Blackberry jam, sandalwood, coconut. An awesome ripe accompaniment to the gamey lamb.

A blend of 68% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, 10% Petite Sirah and 2% Alicante Bouschet. Deep Ruby, complex, yet delicate with aromas of dark fruits, spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plum and cherry with smoky oak, pepper and cacao wrapped in generous acidity. Fine sweet tannins, long finish, great structure ending with fruit, cedar, spice and slight earthy tones. Nice!

Rich blackberry aromas are prominent with some underlying vanilla notes. Bright fruity acidity, ripe blackberries, a smooth medium body, oak and vanilla, medium tannins. Extremely well balanced.

Paired really well with a roasted duck

Last night. Yes, this was fantastic. A year has passed since I last tried and it was much improved.

Some cherry. Quite smooth and nice. 1.5 liter bottle. June 2021.

This baby was given 3 hours in crystal. In classic ridge style the big Cali bomber came off with unexpected elegance. Red berry and supple tannins this wine would be great to watch evolve over the next 10 years.
