Since we were not able to go to Ridge this year do to the California Covid travel restrictions, we decided it was only appropriate to pop one (okay 2) bottles for dinner. They say chalky tannins, but I didn’t get that. Instead I got the Dry Creek Zinfandel (best in the world) deep dark fruits and some of that black pepper. We will shoot for a trip once this is all over. Restaurants and wineries all need our support during this pandemic and afterwards.

With the roughly 4+ years of bottle age this was showing nicely albeit at its peak. Lovely black fruits danced with warm Spivey notes and the palate was full and balanced. Very happy I didn’t pull the cork on this wine early.

Smooth and approachable. Not overly jammy but very well structured. This almost doesn’t drink like 100% Zinfandel. Seems more like a very well balanced and established fruit forward cab. Excellent wine nonetheless!

The East Bench Zinfandel is always a step up from the Three Valleys but without the age-ability or complexity of the Lytton Springs or Geyserville. This one is just at the front end of its drinking window and will likely show more in six months or so.
