Rhys Vineyards
Bearwallow Vineyard Ultra Brut Sparkling White Blend
Anderson Valley, North Coast, California, USA
Notes from 24 hrs open. Notes similar to last time, but better today than yesterday. Palate shows slightly disjointed: bitter grapefruit and cranberry, but mousse is a bit harsh.

Pop and pour. A bit strange initially, with a disjointed sweetness and bitternesss, but that resolved quickly. Notes from 30 min open. Yes, this needs air. On the nose: ginger, lemon, cranberry, apple pie with a touch of vanilla cream. On the palate: bitter at first, like chalk, grapefruit and cranberry, soft mousse, but grapefruit becomes dominant. Short on the finish, but good acid and density.

Dec 5th, 2020Very elegant, fresh, floral, citrusy, with pear and biscotte. Dry and balanced, medium length and excellent delineation. Great stuff ! Drink or hold.
