I kept smelling and tasting it over and over again to confirm how insanely delicious it was. The alpine vineyard is a special place for sure. All to the sounds of Peter tosh

Wanted to check in and see how the 12’s are coming along. In a word- slowly. The only major change so far is that the green notes from whole cluster have evolved into a nice spice. Along with that is some of the darkest fruit profile i’ve ever had in a pinot. Wonderful depth yet so light weight. These have a long slow age curve ahead of them.

2012 San Mateo Cty. Not very impressive for this winery. A little herbal and not much depth.

Amazingly intense with spicy additions, adding grace and interest to its ripe, mixed forest fruit profile. Approachable already, but this serious Dujac-styled version, promises to age thru 2022 at least.

Lovely aromas of crushed summer berries, fine tuned oak treatment, spicy minerals all flowing into a layered finale where acidity, wet stones and pan-fried herbs take centre stage. Beautiful!

Had this with the best meal of the year at Stone & Embers in Philo. Patrick's food is shockingly delicious and thoughtfully composed. I'm really awed that he's here in Anderson Valley. Anyone who loves compelling cooking should make the drive from the bay.

Tight, but great concentration and well-balanced tannic and acidic structure,, it will be special.
