Raw meat, slight rubber, blackberry jam, pencil shavings, slight barnyard (N) Black fig, ripe cherries, raspberry, black licorice, cocoa powder, allspice. (P). BOMBA! Med silky tannins, m+ acid, long finish. Like a cross btw Burgundy and CA Pinot!

Its like a lighter, brighter Lodi Zinfandel. Less weight and more orange and rose

$20 for the 2020 vintage. Came together nicely after about 45 minutes of airing. Low tannins. Drunk with pasta Norma. With Bellini have liked it?

Bright, fruity, cherry palate but not sweet.

Frappato really shows through. Rather than Neto being the base with some complexity from The frappato. The frappato plays the lead singer and the Nero privdes structure.

Two of my favorite grapes combined into the perfect blend. I get red plum and cooked strawberry. I could drink this wine for days. Super smooth.

Soft cherry aromas with a mineral edge. Palate has a Beaujolais-like candied character mixed with a funky and earthy vegetal component.

The Italian to English translation on the back of the bottle here literally just says "pair with fish", clearly not intentionally made to be a thinking mans wine the label would suggest. However, I'm having this on the couch with a light beef pasta with a Planeta Cerasuolo sauce and it's legitimately one of the greatest pairings. I've had this 4 or 5 times now but this time bottle age is starting to show in the most complimentary of ways. Dried, almost sunburnt strawberry and red cherries , red flowers, cloves and mixed spice. Acidity is still very fresh and lively that's for sure. Beautiful drinking, sitting right in its slot. Going to be brave here and advise you that it probably would work well with a number of foods and cuisines rather than just "fish". Chuck it in the fridge if it's hot outside too
