The 2006 has matured wonderfully since release. Here I found a seductive mix of dark chocolate, sweet spice, Tuscan dust, plum, blueberry skins and dried strawberries. On the palate I found velvety textures lifted by textbook Sangio acidity, with spiced cherry, mulled apple, Balsamico and a hint of black licorice. It finished wonderfully fresh and long on dark red fruit, cinnamon and a bitter twang of savory herbs. This is in a beautiful place right now, with no fear of decline in the foreseeable future.

Smoke, spice, licorice, red and black fruit. It's all there. This wine totally delivers and is one of the best Sangioveses I had this year. Delicious.
