Nice nose of tobacco, cassis, earth and mineral. Tar as well. Deep. Palate is dark, deep, rich and brooding. Dense, structured and ripe, and showing youthful elements at 8 years of age. Long finish. I see air helping here. Cascading layers of fruit will fan out more. Serious structure and big tannins.

Had the 2012 vintage on July 4th. Very dry with notes of 80% dark chocolate and dark cherries and plums
