Deep ruby, with tar, crushed violets, licorice, smoked meat, iodine, forest floor - very broad range of flavors. Loads of ripe, silky tannins and good acid lift. More floral than spicy- compact and restrained but still powerful. Lovely wine with long finish.

A really focused Syrah with a lot of appeal. Dark fruit profile, white pepper, basil maybe too. Sustains well. Very attractive from Peay, one of my go to Cali producers.

In a great spot, seemingly just at middle age. Smoked game meat, licorice, balsamic, plums, dark fruits. Round and soft with silky tannins.

Creamy blueberry and blackberry and tons of pepper. Extremely elegant in style. Silky. This is consistently one of my favorite California Syrahs.
