Les Jalets Crozes Hermitage Syrah

A true beauty. Ripe red fruit and almost-baked black fruits. Classic Syrah bacon and leather, and lovely violets both fresh and dried. Red fruits present themselves on the palate, as acidity elevates this beautiful 100% Syrah.

Had with lamb, was delicious. Pepper, Boysenberry, herbs, licorice, fennel, soy sauce, silky tannins and balancing acid.

2017 vintage. Textbook Crozes-Hermitage. Bright black fruit and vivid Northern Rhône Syrah acidity. Finishes with an attractive peppery punch. Great evolution in the glass. A versatile food wine too. Terrific value at less than 15 euros. Abv. 13,5 %.

Drinking nicely

Good.

Tangy earth and dried fruit rind. Thinning but still sinewy. Lots of sediment. Not afraid to admit I'm won over by the label.

Clean, classic delectable

Juicy black and blue fruits. Nice black plum. Grilled meats, black tea, just a touch of white pepper, soft leather, balsam wood and dry crushed rock.

Soap meats hints of pepper medium body and tannin the finish is a bit lacking otherwise higher score
