Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Drinking really well right now. Big tannins have softened to a good place.

On the nose I get rich lush stewed dark fruits. It also has hints of vanilla and oak. On the palate the wine envelopes the tongue with grippy tannins on the sides and we’ll balanced acid on the tongue. The flavors of deep red and blue stewed fruits meld together without making this wine overly sweet.
Very easy drinking.

Pure Ruby red. Subtle aroma - currant, licorice, dull fig. Elegant, rounded, and extremely easy to drink with exceptionally soft tannins. Subdued fruit. Lush. Glassy. Quintessential Cab.

Feb 11th, 2017Gorgeous wine. For the price of a bottle of Silver Oak AV, you get something that hits beyond its weight class. Should come as no big surprise as winemaker is cult favorite Heidi Barrett and grapes are rumored to be from Screaming Eagle. Whether it's true or not matters not (editor's note: it isn't true). This is an elegant expression of Napa Valley Cabernet that is absolutely approachable today but should also age and improve over the next 5+ years.
